More Susan Boyle. 10 years ago.
Something about her singing "Killing Me Softly" is just too touching for words. Take a listen. First up, "Cry Me A River" and then the Roberto Flack classic. (If you want to zip ahead to it, slide up to 4:19.) There are no comments equal to the pathos of her voice. —Charlotte

Charlotte, I think both songs are absolutely beautiful. However, are we sure that it is Susan singing them? (I sound like my mother now).

Hi Lis! I think it is the actual Susan. First, it's from the Telegraph in London, and I had seen it first in Paris Match. So if it's a fake, then rather large publications are spreading it around. But I also have to say that it feels, well sounds, like her voice to me. There are similar vocal mannerisms, a similar musicality...the voice sounds younger, but still like hers. I'm no expert, but I feel that its authentic. There's an article that accompanies the recordings in Paris Match that describes how she made these recordings and sent them to music companies, but to obviously not much avail. Then my French got "tired" and I stopped reading. Suffice it to say, that she has captured the hearts, minds, curiosity of millions and millions of people. I hope she can remain true to herself in the midst of this maelstrom to which I am, unfortunately, contributing.
ReplyDeleteHi sweetie,
ReplyDeleteWell, she does a lovely job, and I am surprised that no grabbed her up years ago.
I don't see her getting caught up in all that "I have to look like everyone else routine".....new clothes, make up, hairdo is good for the soul....
I say , good for her !!!!
