I loved Philip Roth until I read some very disparaging remarks he made about his ex-wife.
ReplyDeleteI've heard mention of those remarks, though I don't know what they are. But it doesn't diminish him as a writer, for me, nor does it take away the validity of what he says about writing, creativity, aging, the future of books etc. I still watch Woody Allen films too, even though I wasn't crazy about the whole Soon Yi affair, y'know?
